PRP Hair Restoration Aftercare and Timeline

PRP hair restoration is not an instant hair-growth treatment. Patients usually need a plan, a series, and patience. This guide explains the timeline and aftercare questions people should understand before starting.

Learn what to expect after PRP hair restoration, including early scalp care, realistic timing, maintenance, and candidacy questions.

What PRP Is Trying to Support

PRP uses a patient's own platelet-rich plasma as part of a hair restoration plan. The goal is to support follicles that are still active enough to respond.

It is not a replacement for hair transplant surgery, and it cannot revive areas where follicles are no longer viable. Candidacy matters.

    The First Few Days

The scalp may feel tender, tight, or sensitive after treatment. Patients should follow the office's exact instructions about washing, styling, exercise, and topical products.

Avoiding irritation early helps the scalp calm down. Do not add aggressive products unless the provider has approved them.

    When Results Are Judged

Hair changes take time because hair grows in cycles. Early shedding or no visible change right away does not necessarily mean the plan is failing.

Many patients need a series before they can judge response. Photos taken under the same lighting are useful because small changes are hard to see day to day.

    • Expect gradual change, not instant density
    • Use consistent photos to track progress
    • Ask about medical causes of shedding
    • Discuss whether maintenance sessions are appropriate

    When to Combine Treatments

Some patients may benefit from medical hair-loss evaluation, topical or oral therapies, exosome discussions, or referral depending on the pattern and severity.

At True Bliss Medical, PRP and PRF conversations are part of a broader regenerative and aesthetic consultation, not a one-size-fits-all promise.
